MUMBAI: After releasing his second album in July, Marathi music composer Ajay Naik has now composed a new track - Dil Se Marathi' for regional political party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) as a part of its political campaign.

The song is composed and penned by Ajay himself and crooned by young amateur singers. I could have roped in a celebrity sing to croon the track but since the song is about the expression of today's generation. I wanted it to sound more natural and young and so roped in few of my friends, auditioned them and finally zeroed on three of them,... says Ajay.

Talking about the song he says, It is a patriotic song which is about the spirit of being a Maharashtrain. Though the song has been furthered by the political party there is no political message in it. The track talks about how the indigenous Marathi people should be proud of their culture....

The track also has MNS chief Raj Thackeray quoting few lines about the Marathi culture and inheritance. He voices a lot of issues related to Marathi people and is very popular amongst youth. And since the song is for the younger generation it was apt to feature his discourses in the song,... states the composer.

The single was released two weeks back by the politician himself. At the release more than 2000 CD's were distributed and I received a heart warming response,... informs Ajay. Listeners can also hear it online. Infact the song has become so popular that it is also being remixed by a popular DJ,... he adds.

The composer also plans to form a rock band. There are a lot of other regional rock bands except Marathi. I want to venture into this genre of music as well. I would rope in few of my friends and acquaintances who have the singing prowess. If things go as per plan we would be ready with our first act around January 2010...

Ajay would start working on his third album soon. My next album will have a more global sound. I want to introduce lounge kind of Marathi music. I would want to rope in few established names from the Hindi music industry though the details are not finalized as yet,... says the composer who had roped in singers like Shankar Mahadevan and Shaan for his previous albums.
