Adele tops #039Billboard 200 album chart#039 for 24th time

MUMBAI: Soul British singer Adele has topped the ‘Billboard 200 album chart’ for the 24th time with her Grammy-winning album ‘21’.

The album in its 68th week on the chart, has withhold the new entries like Alan Jackson and the Beach Boys who rank on the second and third position respectively.

According to Nielsen SoundScan figures, Adele’s album has sold around 75,000 copies which have been buoyed by NBC's special ‘Adele Live in London'. Country crooner Alan Jackson’s latest studio album ‘Thirty Miles West,’ has sold around 73,000 copies excluding holiday and compilation sets while  veteran singer Beach Boys' 29th studio album ‘That's Why God Made The Radio’ has sold 61,000 copies in its first week of release.   For Beach Boys who are celebrating their 50 anniversary in music industry, the album is the highest debut since 1974.

Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young's 35th studio album ‘Americana’ landed at No 4 selling 44,000 copies, giving Young his second-highest debut after 1972's ‘Harvest’ which debuted at No 1. Newcomer rapper Big K.R.I.T ranked at  No 5 with his debut album ‘Live From The Underground’.

One Direction's ‘Up All Night’ fell to No 6 from fourth place, and John Mayer's ‘Born And Raised’ dropped  at No 7  from two straight weeks at number one .
