Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao promote Dhobi Ghat on Radio Mirchi

MUMBAI: Superstar Aamir Khan and his debutante-director wife Kiran Rao were on Radio Mirchi's breakfast show 'Hi Mumbai' on Thursday to promote her forthcoming film, Dhobi Ghat in a conversation  that spanned the making of the film, its actors, and Mumbai's eternal charm. Kiran Rao -- who, incidentally,  revealed she had been an RJ in Delhi -- said, "Mumbai is one of the most important characters in the movie." The superstar couple spoke of their experience of shooting at the dhobi ghat,  and the great time they had doing so. The much-in-love couple also sang for each other on the show, hosted by RJ Jeeturaj.

For the last few days, Radio Mirchi had organized a fun contest where Mirchi listeners were invited to share photographs of  Mumbai. Listeners were asked to upload their photographs on the Mirchi Facebook page  Aamir and Kiran Rao sifted through the creative photographs and selected Mirchi listener Shalini Rao's photograph titled â€?Crackin Up' as the winner. Shalini Rao also got to meet Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao at the Mirchi studio 

�Dhobi Ghat' chronicles the lives of four individuals in the lively, pulsating city of Mumbai and the hopes, dreams, ambitions, adventure and experiences they cherish. Directed by Kiran Rao, the film stars an eclectic cast of Aamir Khan, Prateik Babbar, Monica Dogra and Kriti Malhotra. The film releases today, Friday, the 21st of Jan.
