A lowdown of the rock n roll episode on LiL Champs

The 3rd August episode theme is rock n roll and the catchy tunes of Eena Meena Deeka is the opening number sung by the nine participants of LiL Champs.

Abhrakanti from Kolkata gets special mention on the show for being the only contestant to achieve a hat trick for getting three consecutive ?‹?“double promotions over the last three weeks. But, unfortunately no contestant is able to get the distinction of getting straight A+s from the judges.

Pawani sings ?‹?“I am the best getting similar responses from the judges with Alka and Abhijeet giving her A+ and Bappi giving her A. Armaan is next singing ?‹?“Papa kehte hain got the judges approval. Protek sang ?‹?“Khud ko kya samajti hai far better than his borderline performance last week.

But, Shraddha disappointed in her rendition of ?‹?“Gore gore gore¦ and only managed to get grades in B from the judges. After giving fairly consistent performances in the earlier weeks, she went too fast and messed it up. Bappi Lahiri said, Your timing was very poor. I am shocked.

Abhrakanti sang ?‹?“O jana¦.keh raha hai dil but did not get the judges approval for straight A+s again. Both Bappi and Alka are vocal in their criticism to his singing. Expecting a better performance Bappi said, You were not able to control your breathing and I could not understand what you sang. Alka was more pointblank and said, This song was not of your genre. Abhijeet agreed with his co-judges and just commented that he was talented.

The pocket size young singer Gurpreet sings ?‹?“Bol baby bol has been a favourite with the judges because of her bindaas attitude and spirit. Her selection of songs is also notable as she picks those songs that suit her unusual voice. She gets three As from the judges for singing the song in one breath.

Sanchita sings ?‹?“Tumse mili nazar to asar hua hai aaj is dil pe and gains approval from all the judges. Abhijeet says, You have great consistency and spark in your singing. Alka also acknowledged that it was a tricky song, and though she missed her sur a few times, overall it was a good performance. Bappi gave her an A and both Alka and Abhijeet gave her an A+.

Sameer, the avid Salman Khan fan from Mumbai, gets the flak from the judges for his disinterested style of singing ?‹?“Gustakh Dil. He, like Gurpreet, has managed to win the judges with his attitude and unique singing style. Alka remarked that he was not focused and forgot his lines, despite having a lot of potential.

With every week, the computer expert Diwakar from Delhi sings to show that his visual disability does not stop him from giving depth to his singing. He gets mixed reactions from the judges singing ?‹?“Bade miyan deewane. Bappi and Abhijeet praise him but Alka says his usual spirit was missing.

As reported earlier, this episode ends with the nine contestants singing their very own composed song. Their special rock n roll song goes to prove that these LiL Champs have it in them to become the future playback singers in India.
