MUMBAI: Celebrating the influence of women in the English music space, 9XO has initiated a special programming line-up for Women’s Day. Titled ‘9XO Kickass Chicks’, the show will air from 6-8 March on the channel.
The special show will feature some of the most influential women in English music ranging from Madonna to Lady Gaga. The channel also has various categories like ‘Madass’, ‘Badass’, ‘Cuteass’, ‘Hotass’, ‘Smartass’ and ‘Dumbass’, which will each air songs of artistes like Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Adele, Spice Girls, Janet Jackson and even Priyanka Chopra’s single In My City.
9XO programming head Luke Kenny said, “The music selection on 9XO Kickass Chicks celebrates the achievement of women made in the English music space. The playlist created is the declaration by strong, confident women who knows what they want. The show features various categories with the best of women artistes across the world, as 9XO celebrates the international women’s day from 6 to 8 March 2013.”
The special day will also be celebrated across the digital platform through the channel’s official website and across mobile platforms. A special application is also being created, where free downloads of the playlist in the form of ringtones and full tracks will be accessible on their facebook page, twitter handle, WAP and online stores.
