MUMBAI: Though India lives in villages the importance of farmers are stressed only by inflation.

Its Harvest season again and celebration time too. In Tamilnadu it is celebrated as a thanksgiving day to one and all associated with agriculture right from Sun God to cows.

Trichy Suryan FM 93.5, as always, took the lead in coming up with innovative concepts and perfectly tuned the programming elements to accommodate the far end living people's aspirations. We conceptualized and designed Vayalodi Vilayadi... a three day event in such a way to show that their happiness is shared and their sorrows are highlighted... said the Station Head.
The folk tint in the on-air elements for three days was unique in its own way and gave a different color apart from festive mood. Not just the shows, but all segments, utilities and packaging were re-created with folk tint. Farmers were encouraged to talk like radio jockeys on-air and all those idiosyncrasies and catch phrases associated with jocks were not forgotten by them and reproduced exactly in the way Suryan FM jocks say it.

On-ground, all the jocks were taken out in Bullock carts and they roamed in the outskirts of the city holding their head high as a farmer. With exponents of folk dances like Karagattam, Mayilattam and Poykal kuthiraiattam accompanying the jocks, farmers enjoyed interacting with them.
