MUMBAI: In celebration of Women's day this March, Radio Mirchi aired a week long special on “Rewind Raagam”. The show had Radio Jockey Shivashankari in candid discussion with a few special multi-faceted women who are behind the success of some of our favourite male celebrities. Featuring one interview everyday from March 05 - March 14, 2012 (11am - 2pm), the show hosted erstwhile Kollywood heroines Khushboo & Radhika Sarathkumar, Fathima (A. R. Rahman's sister); Latha Rajnikanth, Aruna Vishwanathan & Shaila, spouses of Superstar Rajnikanth, Grandmaster Vishwanathan and Actor Vikram respectively; as well as Illaya Thalapathy Vijay's mother Shobha Chandrasekhar.

In addition to being a pillar of strength to their families, the women are self-made successes and celebrities in their own right. With the myriad of roles to play, the women have learned to be experts at the balancing act. Juggling everything from running a house to adopting a nurturing parenting style focussed on keeping children grounded, the women also manage their own careers. On her show, RJ Shivashankari profiled each of these super women and got a glimpse of life behind-the scenes in celebrity families. Some light hearted banter with the cherished women revealed endearing anecdotes of love-at-first-sight, comical Valentine's Day and sweet gestures by the celebrities.

In conversation over a 2 day special, Latha Rajnikanth recalled the instant chemistry that ignited sparks between her and the Superstar during their first meeting when she was in college. Actresses Radhika and Khushboo felt a crucial part of their parenting was to ensure the children were brought up with no airs. Khushboo added that her daughters were not aware until recently that she was once a well known actress with a temple built in her honour. In good humour, Shobha Chandrasekhar spoke about how Vijay called to verify her saree size before gifting her one, while Aruna recalled Vishwanathan Anand presenting her a saree in the colour of his screensaver. On a more emotional note, Fathima recollected her family being moved when A.R. Rahman played “Roja” for his mother.

As a token of appreciation, Radio Mirchi gifted a hand drawn portrait sketch to each of the women featured on the show.
