Radio Misty Sikkim partners with Baishaki Mahotsav

MUMBAI: Radio Misty Sikkim 95 fm, the only 24 hours live fm station of Sikkim partnered with grand celebration of Nepali New Year Baishaki Mahotsav 2067 which was held Sikkim Government College auditorium in Gangtok with pomp and gaiety.

Organized by Nepali Sahitya Parishad, the function was held under the Chairmanship of State Power Minister Sonam Gyatso Lepcha, while the Speaker of Sikkim Legislative Assembly KT Gyaltsen was present as the chief guest.

Similarly, the president of Nepali Sahitya Parishad BK Roka said the main intention of celebrating Baishaki Mahotsav is to inculcate the true spirit of tradition and culture in the young mind. The occasion also marked felicitation to noted singer of Nepal Deep Shrestha.

Local singers such as Sonam Doma, Ganesh Dhungel, Runa Lepcha, Devraj Sharma, Anjali Pradhan, Dawa Lama, Badri Durga Kharel and Lashimith Rai also performed traditional songs during the function. On the occasion, the chief guest also released an annual literary magazine �Kanka' of Nepali Sahitya Parishad and an audio CD �Himali Paricahy'.
