Radio Misty to promote songs on Toy Train

MUMBAI: On the occasion of 128th anniversary of toy train, a CD was today released here narrating the history of the world heritage Darjeeling Himalayan railway. Radio Misty 94.3 fm, the first and Number one station of North Bengal will promote this on air.

The CD contains information about the toy train and is full of descriptions of the 80 km narrow gauge track and the railway stations. It was produced by a lyricist, musician and former divisional commercial superintendent and public relations officer of NF Railway, Tarak Nath Bhattacharjee. Bhattacharjee introduced package trips, chartered trips with steam locomotives during his tenure.

He said 3000 CDs would be distributed through tour operators to popularise toy train ride among tourists. If Railway Board, UNESCO or DHR lovers came forward the CD in different languages would also be made, Bhattacharjee said.

The deputy director of tourism, W Bengal, Gopal Lama who released the CD lauded the venture to spread the message of toy train. Radio Misty has taken on air the Inauguration ceremony. Beside this a special show was aired on toy train.
