Radio Mirchi plants 983 saplings in Chennai!

MUMBAI: Chennai's hottest radio station, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM donated 983 saplings to the Corporation of Chennai in support of the UN's Mission Green Earth. UN has undertaken to plant 100 million saplings across the world. As support to this cause, Radio Mirchi donated 983 saplings.

As part of the campaign, saplings were given away on-air to the Mirchi listeners during the Breakfast show Hello Chennai. The fabric for the show revolved around the importance of planting more trees. The first sapling was given away to a loyal Mirchi listener who turned 80 last week.

Despite heavy rains hitting Chennai during the day, the entire Radio Mirchi team comprising of RJs, Sales, programming team along with the rest of the office were present at Somasundaram ground to plant the saplings. This created a lot of interest among the people in and around that area.

Free saplings were also distributed to the passer-bys who joined the Mirchi team in planting saplings.

Radio Mirchi team distributed free saplings across the length and breadth of the city.
