Pop Singer Mikka Singh to be Brand Ambassador of First Hari Ram Wrestling Indian Grand Prix Tournament 2012

NEW DELHI: Pop Singer Mikka Singh will be the Brand Ambassador of the ‘First Hari Ram Wrestling Indian Grand Prix Tournament 2012’ which will be held in New Delhi from 25 to 27 May.

Wrestlers from 22 Countries will show their wrestling skills in Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in the Grand Prix Tournament to be held for the first time in Asia.

Pop Singer Mikka Singh said in a press meet here that the Tournament is a matter of Pride for India. He appreciated the efforts made by Organizing Committee Chairman Ashok Aggarwal for encouraging the most ancient game of India.

Aggarwal said Mikka is a very popular Pop Icon among the youth and so the popularity of the tournament will also increase as he is the Brand Ambassador of the tournament. The youth will know more about Wrestling, the most ancient game of India, through this tournament.

The Tournament will be an annual event and India is the only country in Asia and one of the few in the world which is hosting a Grand Prix Tournament. The tournament has the approval of Government of India and support of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA).

The Mascot of the tournament ‘LION’ was recently unveiled by Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitely. The Logo was released by Member of Parliament Brij Bhushan Saran Singh.
