Mumbai: BIG 92.7 FM – India's no. 1 FM station had it's Mumbai station undertake a special drive against Terrorism called Halla Bol... wherein they urged each and every Mumbaikar to join in and speak up. In continuation with the Halla Bol activity they launched the �Big Citizen Army' which aims to train the entire Mumbai to combat and face such situations fearlessly. The first training workshop was held at Vivekananda College at Chembur with 1500 students being part of it.
In keeping with its proposition of �Suno, Sunao, Life Banao' Mumbai's No. 1 radio station, organized a training workshop at the college. The radio station in official collaboration with security & medical aid service provider �Topsline Life' aims at training the entire city through workshops at various colleges, corporate offices and housing societies. The workshops comprise presentations and interactive sessions with the trained personnel which will empower each and every Mumbaikar to face such situations well equipped fearlessly. Empowering the youth is an important part of the entire drive as the youth today form a major part of the city's future and hence big 92.7 FM Mumbai aims at reaching out to colleges in the entire city through this initiative.
Mr. Wajid Ansari - Sr. Vice President from TOPSLINE also commented that exuberance of youth combined with a sense of responsibility can help mobilize any response much faster than normal. As in any medical condition, be it an accident or a heart attack, an action within the first 30 minutes can affect saving of lives hugely. And with emergency situations increasing, it is imperative that Young India take on the mantle of providing life saving measures, thus helping save lives. Commenting on BIG FM's role on the issue, Ms. Neerja Dhillon, Station Head – BIG 92.7 FM said Radio as a medium today can not only inform people, but it can activate a complete movement in the city. Through the Big Citizen Army the RJs on air are mobilizing citizens to be a part of the change. Suggestions from listeners, tips given to listeners by well trained experts, help line phone numbers given out are a regular feature on the radio station. Big 92.7 FM strongly believes that one should stand up and contribute in times of crisis and hence the Big Citizen Army is launched to empower people during such times. The entire movement is important to make Mumbai a more aware, alert and safe city.
