MUMBAI: Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist Lil Wayne's tenth studio album Tha Carter IV will be available in stores on August 29th.

In a music industry first, Lil Wayne will release Tha Carter IV in its entirety on-line via retail sites including iTunes and Amazon at the stroke of midnight following the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on August 28th, the evening before the physical CD will be in stores. The release is a grand finale to his performance at the MTV Music Awards where he is nominated for "Best Hip-Hop Video" and "Best Collaboration."

The Carter IV is stacked tall with hits, beginning with the first single "6 Foot 7 Foot," featuring Cory Gunz, which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 2 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as well as its Rap Songs chart. His second single "How To Love" claims the #1 position on Mediabase and BDS Urban charts. The third single from the album, "She Will," featuring Drake is becoming a massive hit as the #1 most added song at Urban Radio Mediabase for the second week in row. "She Will" is #1 in major markets including WPOW Miami, KQKS Denver, WLLD Tampa, KGGI Riverside, KVEG Las Vegas, WCKX Columbus, KPEZ Austin and WHHH Indianapolis. "She Will" is also #1 as the most added song at Urban Mediabase, holding top position at WWPR New York, WGCI Chicago, WHAT Atlanta, WVEE Atlanta, WPHI Philadelphia, WKYS Washington, D.C., WHTD Detroit, WPEG Charlotte, WENZ Cincinnati, WENZ Cleveland and WUBT Nashville. "She Will" debuted at no. 1 on the iTunes Single Chart the first day it was available for download. "She Will" reached #1 on both iTunes Main and Hip-Hop/Rap charts, with 67,260 total singles sold in the first two days.

Tha Carter IV is the highly anticipated follow-up to Lil Wayne's ninth album, 2010's I Am Not A Human Being. Propelled by the No. 1 platinum hit single "Right Above It," featuring Drake, I Am Not A Human Being soared to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, in addition to topping Billboard's Digital Albums chart, Rap Albums chart, and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

Lil Wayne has sold more than 10 million records in a single decade and earned eight Grammy nominations for his multi-platinum 2008 album, Tha Carter III, which shattered records by selling over one million copies in its first week of release. The New Orleans native who hails from the streets of Hollygrove released his first tracks at age 12 after he was introduced to Cash Money CEOs Ronald "Slim" Williams and Bryan "Birdman" Williams. Lil Wayne released the first instalment of Tha Carter series in 2004, which added to his impressive collection of platinum plaques, followed by Tha Carter II in 2006, which cemented his status as one of the best MCs in the hip hop game. But it was 2008's critically acclaimed Tha Carter III that gave Lil Wayne his iconic stature in popular music, paving the way for his advisory role to grow as CEO of Young Money Records.
