MUMBAI: Channel [V] announced today that multi-talented singer/songwriter and media presenter Kyle Linahan will join the channel as a permanent host.
Kyle will team up with current [V]Js Renee Bargh, Danny Clayton and Jane Gazzo to complete the Channel [V] presenter line-up and will be seen on-air from 1 July. His first role for the channel is hosting a Lady Gaga performance and interview which will be filmed this evening and broadcasted on Channel [V] in July.
Joining Channel [V] is a move back to Kyle's musical roots after co-hosting Nickelodeon for the past two years. Nickelodeon General Manager, Katrina Southon, said that the Nick family were sad to wave goodbye to Kyle, but equally excited to see him move into the next phase of his presenting career. Kyle has been a vibrant ambassador for Nickelodeon. We warmly thank him for his time at Nick and wish him all the very best for the new adventures he'll enjoy at Channel [V]!... said Southon.
Before working in television, Kyle had a burgeoning music career having supported the Australian tours of Grammy Award-winner George Benson, Roachford, Mica Paris and Marcia Hines and in 2002 was signed to Warner Music Australia and released two top forty singles. In 2005 Kyle relocated to Los Angeles where he wrote and recorded with producer Mike Bradford, who has worked with artists such as Kid Rock, Terence Trent D'arby and Deep Purple, and had one of his songs included on the soundtrack for Disney feature film Jump In. The album peaked at number 4 on the American Billboard charts. Throughout his career he has interviewed high profile international talent such as Cameron Diaz, Jerry Seinfeld, Avril Lavigne and Zac Efron to name a few.
