MUMBAI: Radio Choklate 104 FM, Odisha's Apna No.1 Station commemorated the 75th Utkal Divas (Odisha Day) on 1st April in unique fashion. This day is widely celebrated amongst Odias as the foundation day of the state. To mark this occasion the station exclusively played Odia music throughout the day to the delight of its listeners.

Priyadarshi Debasis, Station In-charge, Radio Choklate said, Since the time of its inception, Radio Choklate has been a close companion of all its listeners at all times and there is a constant endeavor on our part to put on something special on such occasions. And today, in a streak of patriotism, we have decided to play only Odia numbers on both our stations....

A heartwarming cover of the historic national song of Odisha, VandeUtkalJanani(Glory to the Mother Odisha), was produced by the creative team of Radio Choklate for this day. In addition, a dramatic capsule called AameOdia (We are Odia)' was aired at regular intervals, which highlighted the triumphs and achievements of Odisha.

Odias who have brought national or international fame and glory to the state graced our studio as guests on every show. Their journey from struggle to success and interactions with the public was an inspiration to every Odia who tuned into Radio Choklate that day..., said RJ Sangram who has been with the station since its formation.

This little twist in programming was met with overwhelming response and there was no stop to appreciative calls and SMSes.
