MUMBAI: ...Dasavani–2010..., a music festival in memory of saint poet Purandara Dasaru, would be organised in the city from January 7 to 10.
The festival, the first of its kind, would be organised by the Lalitha Kala Academy foundation in association with the Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Sangeetha Sabha as part of the ongoing International Music festival.
The Music festival would be inaugurated by Sri Dayananda Saraswati and it was sponsored by South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur and Department of Kannada and Culture, Bangalore and S Vyasa University.
As part of the music festival, a nation-wide Stop Diabetes Mellitus community service project would be launched by highlighting concurrent use of music and yoga as a treatment for better health, Parthasarathy Sabha Secretary M Krishnamurthy and other members connected with the Festival, told reporters today.
