MUMBAI: BIG FM, India’s No 1 radio network, today announced the final leg of its 'Benadryl BIG Golden Voice' contest, a unique and first-of-its-kind radio based talent hunt that was organized across the network’s 45 stations. The final round will be judged by the golden voice of bollywood - singer Abhijeet who will identify one ‘BIG Golden voice’ of the country. The contest witnessed an overwhelming response from across India, with scores of talented singers participating in the hunt. Benadryl BIG Golden Voice, is an inimitable show because it gives the winner a fantastic opportunity to sing in a top Bollywood production that will release this year or in the first quarter of next year.
After launching the contest in July, BIG FM has shortlisted 45 voices from each station. These were shortlisted to twelve singers who have been chosen to sing in the finals and will perform before singing sensation Abhijeet. For many years, Abhijeet has dominated the Bollywood industry and has been the preferred voice for some of the biggest stars like Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgan among others. Entries to the show were received through SMS and phone-in city-level auditions.
Present at the launch was the judge himself, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya along with top 6 contestants including Nagesh Pawar (Solapur), Prachi Mehta (New Delhi,)Nithin Raj (Trivandrum), Devyani Pareek (Ajmer), Nikhil Majhotra (Jammu) and Mona Shevade (Indore)
Abhijeet has judged India’s biggest and most widely followed music reality shows and is recognized as an efficient and entertaining judge. He is passionate about identifying and nurturing singing talent in India and continues to work towards discovering new talent. Bringing the excitement of reality television to radio, the finals of the 'Benadryl BIG Golden Voice' contest will be aired on BIG FM every Saturday and Sunday where three singers will be eliminated every Saturday. The show will debut on the station on the 11th of August and the grand finale will be aired on the 14th of September, giving listeners across India an opportunity to enjoy listening to a unique voice hunt on the award winning radio station.
