Big 92.7 FM salutes the #039Big Mumbaikar#039

MUMBAI: BIG 92.7 FM, India's No. 1 FM Station and a radio initative from Reliance Media World Ltd. announces the �BIG Mumbaikar', an initiative which salutes the contributions of the common man. Through this initative, BIG 92.7 FM recognizes the strength and never say die attitude of Mumbaikars as they felicitate those who have contributed to the betterment of society. The deeds could range from help in times of crisis, natural calamities, helping the local neighborhood or community, assistance to the needy or more. The campaign has the eminent jury of ace film-maker Mahesh Bhatt and the Hon'ble Sheriff of Mumbai Dr. Indu Shahani, who will scan the nominees and short-list the finalists. The jury will ensure an un-biased and transparent system of selecting the BIG Mumbaikar.

The promos which are already on air, calls for Mumbaikars to nominate anyone who they believe deserve to be titled the BIG Mumbaikar. The 5 week campaign from December 20th to January 17th, will see one nominee being short-listed each week, basis a robust voting system – which calls listeners to participate. The final short-listed candidates will make it to the grand finale to be hosted on January 25th next year. RJ Rani will share real life stories of real heroes of our society every Saturday morning on BIG Chai, the Breakfast show on BIG 92.7 FM.

The voting system will be taken on ground to RWA's (residential welfare associations), BIG Cinemas, Zapak Gameplexes, Reliance Web Worlds, and other key high footfall areas where the public can physically cast their votes.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sailesh Bijlani, Cluster Head, Maharashtra & Goa, said The BIG Mumbaikar only furthers the endeavor of BIG 92.7 FM to offer radio as a platform to not just provide entertainment, but also give the local populace an podium to voice their opinion and acknowledge the contributions of the general public to our society. It is the resilience, contribution and solidarity that the people of the city demonstrate through these acts of selflessness that make the city so special. We are confident the city will come forward in support of this initiative and we will be able to honor the true BIG Mumbaikars who do so much good work, behind the scenes and never get acknowledged.
