BIG 92.7 FM Gujarat, celebrates Jaya Parvati and Gauri Vrat

MUMBAI: BIG 92.7 FM, Gujarat's No.1 FM station keeping up with 'Vibe of the City' will celebrate two very important local festivals of Gujarat - 'Jaya Parvati Vrat' and 'Gauri Vrat' across its stations in the state. To commemorate the celebrations, BIG FM will host exciting on-air & on-ground content packaged with events and contests offering a wholesome experience to its listeners.

'Jaya Parvati' (Also known as Aloona Vrat in South Gujarat) and 'Gauri' Vrats are observed throughout the state of Gujarat with great fervour and devotion by womenfolk who worship Gauri / Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva. While unmarried women and young girls worship her for being blessed with good husbands, married women do so for the welfare, health and long life of their spouses and a blissful married life. This year, Jaya Parvati Vrat begins on July 16 and ends on July 20.To entertain the womenfolk, BIG FM Surat, Baroda and Rajkot stations have lined up a slew of interesting interactive initiatives, a mix of on-air talk shows, contests, call-ins, and on-ground events on the theme. Each day RJs will talk on a particular theme like 'Kaisa hoga sapno ka rajkumar', 'Fast mein kaisa hoga aap ka food', 'Dressing for different days' etc. RJs will talk about the festival flavour and there will be out broadcasts from various locations in the cities where womenfolk gather for fun and worshipping.

In Surat, winners of the contests, during this period, will get a chance to watch a movie with Breakfast Jock Setuu and other RJs on the night of Jagran at a popular multiplex. 'Mehendi Competion' will be organized during this period to add more excitement amongst listeners. Women in Rajkot will get to do the Jaagran with RJs at Madhuram Club. And in Baroda RJs will join the girls on the night of Jagran, in various parks and gardens and entertain them all night with fun-filled games and talks. There will also be some special prizes for the winners. A Parna will also be organized at Surat station on July 21, wherein women will be invited to break their fast after worshipping Lord Shiva and Parvati.
