MUMBAI: The night of GUINEA LITE presents BIG BANGLA TELEVISION AWARDS 2010..., was the most awaited night of the month as the Bangla entertainment fraternity stepped into Nazrul Manch, Kolkata to celebrate Bangla Television and honour the most popular small screen characters on Sunday, 12th December.
After receiving acclaim and recognition for �BIG Bangla Music Awards 2010, Reliance Broadcast Network's radio arm 92.7 BIG FM and its experiential marketing arm BIG Live joined hands once again to celebrate and promote regional entertainment with �BIG Bangla Television Awards', an exclusive platform for Bangla TV viewers to recognize and honour their favourite Bangla TV personalities.
�BIG Bangla Television Awards' has been chaired by prominent jury names from the Bangla television & film industry including eminent television, film & theatre actor & producer Kheyali Dastidar, compere beyond compare Madhumanti Maitra and the supremely talented DOP Soumik Haldar whose recent work includes Autograph.
Viewers voted for their favourites via SMS as well as physical ballots. Voting was driven through an extensive multi-media campaign comprising Radio, Television, Cable, Ground Activation, Print & Cinema Advertising.

In a very special moment, Jochhon Dastidar was posthumously awarded the BIG Bangla Television Award for Significant Contribution to Bangla Television amidst a touching tribute by members of the Bangla television fraternity. His daughter Kheyali Dastidar accepted the Award in loving memory of her father.
The night was made even more special with scintillating performances by this year's National Award winners Rupam Islam(accompanied by Fossils) & Ananya Chatterjee, the evergreen Nachiketa and a host of popular TV & film faces such as Bhaswar, Riju, Monami, Sonalee, Sudipta, Koneenica, Manoj, Sagnik.
