Vodafone launches 3G Android smartphone

MUMBAI: Vodafone has announced the launch of its 3G Android-based smartphone 'Vodafone Smart' in the Indian Market.

Powered by Qualcomm Incorporated's Snapdragon S1 processor and Android 2.2.1 OS, 'Vodafone Smart' comes with built-in features like 2.8 inch capacitive touch display, 2 mega pixel camera, video recording and MP4/3GP playback, up to 32GB expandable Memory (2GB card Free), stereo FM and MP3.

The model is integrated with Google services including push mail, maps, speech to text, Gtalk and You Tube and WiFi tethering. Apart from this, it also gives the user access to Android applications. The handset is priced at Rs. 4995/-

Vodafone India chief marketing officer Kumar Ramanathan said, "At Vodafone, we understand the pulse of the urban Indian youth who are extremely brand conscious and have shown a great response to smartphones.
