Sony unveils Xperia Z Ultra

MUMBAI: Sony has officially announced Xperia Z Ultra, an ultra-slim smartphone with a lightweight design.

Sony Mobile announced the 6.44-inch Xperia Z Ultra, its first ‘phablet’ offering at Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai on Wednesday.

The device features android 4.2 jelly bean, 6.4-inch TFT Triluminos display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front facing camera, 16GB internal storage, expandable memory up to 64GB via microSD card, 4G LTE, NFC,  bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and 3000mAh battery.

“The Xperia Z Ultra is the most exciting revolution in large-screen smartphone entertainment devices with both the slimmest and largest Full HD smartphone display in the world that is second to none,” Sony Mobile Communications Xperia marketing director Calum MacDougall said.

It comes with pre-loaded apps like walkman, movies and album.

The Xperia Z Ultra will be launched globally from Q3 2013 (exact timing of availability will vary by market) and the pricing details will be announced soon.
