Idea launches 3G smartphone #039Aurus#039

MUMBAI: Idea has expanded its 3G smartphone portfolio with the launch of its fourth 3G android smartphone ‘Aurus’ in the Indian market.

The dual sim device is embedded with 3.5 inch capacitive multi-touch display, android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, 800MHz processor, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, video calling facility, 1300 mAh battery, 256 MB RAM, Wifi, bluetooth and 4GB external memory card. Out of two SIM card slots, only one card slot supports 3G connectivity.

The device is further equipped with apps like Idea App mall, android manager, reality app layar, currency converter, facebook, photo editor PicSay, pinball game, ringdr
oid, shazam and twitter.

Idea Cellular chief marketing officer Sashi Shankar said, “3G is becoming an enabler in smaller towns which don’t have good broadband access. The new Aurus will offer key 3G features like video calling which will be a new experience for users of all age groups, especially the youth and working professionals, who want to own high-end, feature rich smartphones but find them unaffordable.”

The device is priced at Rs 7,190.
