Red FM inches close to Mirchi in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Red FM clawed its way back up in Mumbai to give stiff competition to leader Mirchi in the commercial capital of the country, in week 49.

RAM data reveals that Mirchi held on to the numero uno position in Mumbai as well as the other metros, excepting Bangalore where Big consolidated its lead position marginally.


Bangalore:
Big FM ended the week with a market share of 19.6 per cent, having climbed 0.5 percentage points, while Mirchi ended at 17.8 per cent, having upped 0.5 points during the week. Fever gained 0.3 points to end the week with a share of 15.4 per cent, while Radio City too made significant strides - gaining 0.9 per cent, to end with a share of 12.8 per cent.

Delhi: It was All India Radio's Gold FM channel that gained the most in the capital - 0.9 points, to end the week with a share of 16.4 per cent. Mirchi lost 0.3 points during the week to end with a share of 24.9 per cent, and Fever lost 1 point to end with a share of 17.8 per cent. Red FM came in a distant fourth to finish with a share of 9.6 per cent, having lost 0.4 points. Radio City came up close with a share of 8.6 per cent.

Kolkata : Mirchi upped 0.9 points to end the week with a share of 20.4 per cent, while Big FM too rose 0.9 points during week 49 to end with a share of 17.4 per cent. Friends FM slipped 0.6 points to end the week with a share of 14.4 per cent. Aamar ended the week with a share of 10.4 per cent, having slipped 0.4 points. Red scored over Fever this week, with a share of 7.6 per cent, over Fever's share of 7.3 per cent.

Mumbai: Leader Mirchi slipped 0.9 points to end the week with a share of 17.1 per cent, while Red FM climbed 1.2 points to end with a share of 15.6 per cent. Big FM too was a gainer, climbing up 1.0 points to end with a share of 12.7 per cent, followed closely by Radio City which had a share of 12.5 per cent. AIR FM Gold had to be content with fifth position and a share of 12.2 per cent. Fever came up close with a share of 11.8 per cent, having climbed 0.2 points during the week.
