Radio One inches up in B'lore, Delhi, Mumbai

MUMBAI:  Radio One, that recently brought in Shankar Ehsaan Loy as its brand ambassadors, appears to be doing well in the four metros monitored by RAM.

According to week 22 data, Radio has climbed slowly but steadily in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, and retained its previous week's market share in Kolkata.

Bangalore: Big FM inched up slightly, widening the gap between itself and Mirchi, gaining 0.1 percentage points and ending the week with a share of 19.7 per cent. Mirchi ended with a share of 17.3 per cent. Fever at third position maintained status quo with a share of 15.3 followed by Radio City which held a share of 12.4 per cent. Radio One at sixth place climbed 0.3 points to end with a share of 8.9 per cent.

Delhi: In the capital however, Mirchi climbed 0.1 points to end with a share of 24.6 per cent, way ahead of Fever which ended with a share of 18.8 per cent. AIR's FM Gold station followed close behind with a share of 17.8 per cent, leaving Red FM far behind it - Red FM had a share of 9.6 per cent. Radio One gained 0.1 points to end the week with a share of 5.7 per cent.

Kolkata: Radio Mirchi climbed a hefty 0.7 points and ended the week with a share of 20.6 per cent, ahead of Big FM that gained 0.3 points and ended with a share of 17.5 per cent. Both Friends and Aamar FM lost marginally and ended with shares of 11.5 and 10.8 per cent respectively. Radio One maintained status quo at 5.4 per cent of the market share.

Mumbai: In Mumbai, Mirchi gained 0.3 points and runner up Red FM lost an equal number of points, widening the gap between the two. Mirchi ended the week with a share of 17.5 per cent, while Red FM had a share of 14.1 per cent. Radio City climbed 0.2 percentage points and ended with a share of 13.3 per cent. Radio One picked up 0.4 points to end with a share of 6.5 per cent of the Mumbai market.
