Radio City gains traction in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Radio City moved threateningly towards the number two position in Mumbai in week five according to RAM data, even as Red FM too clung on its post just a little behind leader Mirchi.

Elsewhere, Mirchi slipped in Bangalore and Delhi, but managed to move up slightly in Kolkata, where Big FM continues to snap at its heels.

Bangalore: All the top five stations in the city recorded a dip in market shares in week five. Big FM the leader slipped 0.3 percentage points to end the week with a share of 19.8 per cent. Radio Mirchi lost the most - 1.1 points and ended the week with a share of 16.6 per cent. Fever retained its status quo and closed the week with a share of 15.7 per cent, at third spot.Radio City lost marginally to end with a share of 12.4 per cent.

Delhi: In the capital, Fever held on to its second position with the same market share it held in the previous week - 18.7 per cent. Radio Mirchi slipped 0.1 points to end with a share of 24.6 per cent of the market. AIR FM Gold too held firm at third position with a share of 17.2 per cent and Red FM was a distant fourth with a share of 8.7 per cent. Radio City came up close behind it with a share of 8.6 per cent.


Kolkata:
Radio Mirchi consolidated its lead position in Kolkata, climbing 0.3 points and ending the week with a share of 20.3 per cent. Big FM upped 0.2 points as well, ending the week with a share of 16.9 per cent. The two local stations, Friends and Aamar however slipped - 0.1 and 0.2 percentage points respectively, to end the week with shares of 13.6 and 10.1 per cent. Red FM came up next wtih a share of 8.8 per cent, having climbed 0.2 points.

Mumbai: Mirchi stayed at the top with a share of 17.2 per cent, and Red FM took up its second position with a share of 14.9 per cent. At third spot was Radio City again with a share of 13.6 per cent having climbed 0.6 per cent during the week. City has inched past Fever, Big and AIR FM Gold in the last two weeks.

Big FM took home the fourth position with a share of 11.5 per cent, while Fever took the fifth spot with a share of 11.4 per cent. AIR FM Gold which lost the most in Mumbai, came up behind wtih a share of 11.1 per cent, still ahead of Radio One which climbed 0.3 points, and ended the week with a share of 6.9 per cent.
