Mirchi slips, but retains hold in three metros

MUMBAI: The leader continued to hold on to the premier position in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata even though it continued to concede top spot to Big FM in Bangalore week 43. With Fever snapping at their heels in Delhi and Mumbai, the fight for the market shares in these metros in the top spots is becoming close.

Bangalore: Big FM stuck to lead position in the garden city with a share of 19.4, with Mirchi following with a share of 18 per cent, while Fever came third with a share of 15.6 per cent. Radio City followed with a share of 12.5 per cent. AIR's FM Rainbow came next with a share of 10.5 per cent, staying ahead of Radio One which had a share of 9.6 per cent.The revamped SFM, now Red FM had  a share of 7.9 per cent.

Delhi: Mirchi's lead in Delhi slipped to a share of 24.2 per cent, but kept runner up Fever FM at arm's length, with its share of 17.8 per cent. AIR's FM Gold came in third with a share of 16.8 per cent, while Red FM had to be content with a share of 10 per cent. Radio City with a share of 7.9 per cent and Big FM with a share of seven per cent followed next.

Kolkata: Mirchi slipped a mite in Kolkata as well, with a share of 19 per cent, still managing to keep head and shoulders over nearest rival Big FM which had a share of 17.3 per cent for the week. Friends FM continued to stay at third place with a share of 14.8 per cent. Aamar FM with a share of 11.1 per cent managed to stay ahead of Fever with its share of 6.8 per cent of the market. Red FM came in close behind with a share of 6.7 per cent, while Meow managed a share of 6.3 per cent.

Mumbai: The gap between Mirchi and Red FM in the country's financial capital closed a wee bit with Mirchi slipping to a 18.4 per cent share of the market, and Red FM taking a 14.9 per cent share. Radio City came a close third with a share of 13.8 per cent.
