Mirchi slips on margins in B'lore, Delhi, Kolkata

MUMBAI: As the year wound to a close, Radio Mirchi's ratings according to RAM data showed a dip in the metros of Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore, while it registered a minor climb in Mumbai. The rest of the market share pattern of all the FM players remained the same overall.

Bangalore: In the garden city, Big FM suffered a minor slip of 0.3 percentage points, ending the week at 19.4 per cent of the market, even as Mirchi also slipped 0.4 points to end with a share of 17.2 per cent. Fever however climbed marginally  by 0.1 point, to end with a share of 15.9 per cent. Radio City too dipped 0.4 points to end with a share of 12 per cent.

Delhi: Mirchi kept its strong lead over its rivals in the capital, but slipped 0.1 points to end with a share of 24.7 per cent. AIR's FM Gold station with a share of 17.7 per cent gave a tough fight for the second spot to Fever which ended with a share of 18.2 per cent, having climbed 0.8 percentage points. Radio City made a considerable gain of 1 percentage point to end with a share of 9.4 per cent.

Kolkata: Mirchi slipped 0.2 percentage points in this city too, ending with a share of 20.5 per cent, while Big inched closer with a share of 16.7 per cent, having climbed 0.3 points. Friends too slipped  1.3 points, ending with a market share of 13.6 per cent, still staying ahead of Aamar FM, which climbed 0.8 points during the week, ending the week with a share of 10.9 per cent.

Mumbai: Mirchi scored its only climb here - with 0.5 points, ending the week with a share of 17.6 per cent, while Red slipped 0.1 points to end with a share of 15.1 per cent. Radio City with a share of 12.6 per cent stayed just ahead of Big FM which had a share of 12 per cent, followed by AIR FM Gold that came in close with a share of 11.8 per cent. Radio One showed  a minor surge of 0.5 points, ending the week with a share of 6.6 per cent.
