Big FM regains top spot in Bangalore

MUMBAI: After a dramatic turn of events last week, Big FM regained its number one position in Bangalore. The station also scooped  hefty points in Delhi though lost out in Kolkata and Mumbai. After a good run for the last couple of weeks, Fever loosened grip in week 33. The station lost few points in Bangalore, Delhi and Kolkata while maintained status quo in Mumbai   

Bangalore - Big FM bounced back in week 33 in Bangalore to re-return to the numero uno position. The station gained an impressive 2.6 points to snatch back the top spot and captured 19.3 per cent of the market share pushing back Radio Mirchi which enjoyed the top spot last week. Mirchi gained 0.1 points to be content with a market share of 17.5 per cent and the second position. Fever lost 0.1 points and took away a share of 15.2 per cent followed by Radio City which maintained status quo at 12.8 per cent. AIR FM Rainbow also climbed up gaining 0.1 points. After losing several notches last week, Radio One buckled up in week 33 to gain 0.1 points and corner a share of 8.6 per cent. Red FM slipped to lose 0.1 points.

Delhi - Leader Mirchi surged forward in the Capital to gain 0.2 points and pocketed a market share of 24.4 per cent and keeping its competitors off hand. After a good run last week Fever saw a dip in numbers. It lost 0.1 points to take home a market share of 18.7 per cent. AIR FM Gold at third spot lost 0.1 points followed by Red FM which also shed 0.2 points to take home a share of 9.6 per cent. Radio City saw a no loss no gain week at 8.4 per cent. After a not so good run last week Big FM jumped ahead in week 33 as it added a considerable 0.5 points to its kitty and grabbed a market share of 7.7 per cent. Radio One also leaped forward in the capital to gain a whopping 0.4 points and ended the week with 5.6 per cent. Meow which was a surprise package last week gaining impressive points failed to deliver this week. It lost a hefty 0.7 points.

Kolkata - Mirchi climbed the charts in the city to gain 0.1 points and drove off with a share of 20.8 per cent. Big FM lost 0.1 points in week 33 to shave off a market share of 17.2 per cent. Friends FM at third spot saw dip in numbers as it lost 0.2 points. Aamar FM maintained status quo at 10.8 per cent. The battle for fifth position heated up as Red FM marched forward in the city to gain 0.4 points. It snatched 8.7 per cent from the total pie and also pushed Fever at the sixth spot. Fever lost 0.1 points and took a share of 8.5 per cent. After a not so good run last week Radio One's woes continued as it lost 0.1 points in week 33. Meow added 0.1 points to its haul.

Mumbai - Leader Mirchi saw a dip in numbers in week 33. The station lost 0.1 points in the city but maintained lead at 17.6 per cent. After losing the coveted second spot to Radio City last week, Red FM regained the position as it gained 0.3 points and garnered a share of 13.6 per cent. Radio City which slipped to third position lost a massive 0.6 points and could bite a share of 13.1 per cent. After a good run last week, Big FM shed 0.2 points in week 33 and took a share of 11.5 per cent. Fever maintained status quo 11.2 per cent. Catching up to it, AIR FM Gold came a close next at 11.1 per cent as it gained 0.1 points. It will be interesting to see which way do the numbers swing next week. Radio One maintained a no loss no gain week at 6.5 per cent
