BIG FM is the No.1 FM Radio Station in Kolkata

MUMBAI: BIG FM has attained the position of number one radio station in Kolkata in average Time Spent Listening (TSL) and overall share in listenership. This has been confirmed as per the latest Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data released for the week 28'14 (06-07-2014 to 12-07-2014).

BIG FM recorded an overall listenership share of 16.8 per cent, thereby creating a testament to the clutter-breaking retro content and award-winning programmes that continue to be cherished by listeners in the east. Iconic and award-winning shows like Se Sudhu Gaaner Din with Sabyasachi Chakroborty and Suhaana Safar with Annu Kapoor dominate their time-slots thereby fortifying the popular radio network’s top spot and leaving behind established FM channels in the city.

In addition to overall share and TSL, BIG FM has been consistently scoring significantly higher than the rest in terms of variety of programmes, humour factor in programmes, fewer ad breaks and for being easily accessible. BIG FM also performs better than competitors on parameters like contests, listener interaction, health and cooking tips et al.

Speaking on the achievement, Ashwin Padmanabhan National Business Head, BIG FM said, "We are delighted that credo to deliver tailor-made content and locally relevant programming has helped attain phenomenal growth in Kolkata. The retro format has been the key success factor. Award winning shows like Se Shudhu Gaaner Din hosted by RJ Sabyasachi Chakraborthy has done well since day 1."

He added, "Such achievements only encourage us to strive to get bigger and better and introduce more innovations – on-air as well as on-ground in the radio space."

With its decision to go Retro in seven key markets, India’s most awarded and popular radio station met with resounding success now commanding a leadership position in other key metros like Mumbai and Delhi as well in various parameters like reach, market share and time spent listening. The station also enjoys leadership in more than 30 cities which has enabled it to be the most sought after radio network across the country.
