After Bengaluru, Radio City and Big FM Mumbai register same market share

MUMBAI: Radio City and Big FM seem to be facing some stiff competition with each other, only this time it was in Mumbai. According to week 9 of the RAM ratings, both stations registered a market share of 18.17 per cent in Mumbai, after enjoying the same market share (22.8 per cent) in Bengaluru, during week 8.

In the financial capital, among private FM stations, Fever FM recorded the highest TSL (6.23) and the third highest market share of 13.8 per cent. Next in line were Radio Mirchi and Red FM, with market shares of 12.8 per cent and 11.4 per cent, respectively. Big FM shows ‘Suhana Safar’ with Anu Kapoor and ‘Breakfast Show’ with RJ Siddharth registered a TARP of 4.8 and 3.4 per cent, respectively. However, Radio City’s ‘Kal Bhi Aaj Bhi’ with RJ Gaurav, ‘Kasa Kai Mumbai’ with RJ Archana and RJ Salil and ‘Love Guru’ with RJ Love Guru, did well too. Two shows by Radio Mirchi did well in Mumbai.

The neck to neck competition from the previous week died down a little in Bengaluru, after Radio City registered a market share of 23.4 per cent, while Big FM slipped slightly lower down to 22.1 per cent. Radio Mirchi held the third position in week 9, with Fever FM in fourth place. In Bengaluru, Big FM’s show ‘Big Coffee’ with RJ Shruti led, and was followed by Radio City’s ‘City Mathu’ with RJ Rachna, Radio Mirchi’s ‘Hi Bengaluru’ with RJ  Smitha and Fever FM’s ‘Fever Flashback’ with RJ Rubina.

Meanwhile, in Delhi, Fever FM continued to stay on top, followed by Radio Mirchi, Big FM and Radio City with market shares of 13.1, 12.3 and 12 per cent respectively. Fever FM’s shows- ‘Evening Drive’ with Nitin, ‘Full on Punjabi’ with RJ Avinash and ‘Zara Si Life’ with RJ Rhicha Vyas had the highest TARP in the city as compared to other shows by other private FM stations. Big FM’s ‘Suhana Safar’ with Anu Kapoor and ‘Dilli Meri Jaan’ with RJ Deepak, also did well.

In Kolkata, Radio Mirchi held the top position with a market share of 19.8 per cent, followed by Big FM in second position with a market share of 16.8 per cent. Other private stations that did well were Oye FM and Aamar FM with market shares of 10.7 and 10 per cent, respectively. Three Radio Mirchi shows- ‘Kaali Kotha’ with RJ Jaganath, ‘90 Not Out’ with RJ Shree, ‘Coffee House Classic’ with RJ Riya and ‘Breakfast Show’ with RJ Shouvik did well.
