RJ Prateek plans nostalgic evenings for Delhiites

MUMBAI: Enjoy refreshing evenings in the capital city of Delhi with BIG FM's RJ Prateek, as the station has revamped the evening slot. With this BIG FM brings to you ‘BIG Happy Hours' which is anchored by RJ Prateek from 5 pm to 9 pm.

The show aims to touch the ‘good old days' of the listeners be it the kind of lifestyle they had then, or the music they heard while they were growing up. In short the programme will make the listeners feel nostalgic. "Very often there are times that one forgets the memories related to their childhood or adolescence due to the hectic schedule we have. So my show will bring back the memories of the listeners' lives," said RJ Prateek.

As a part of a segment called ‘Surkhiyome', there will be a specific theme announced by RJ Prateek following which three songs from the 90's belonging to the theme will be played back to back. There will also be a segment called BIG ‘Paathshaala' where two or three callers will be asked questions dating back from the fifth and sixth grade and winners stand a chance to win some exciting goodies. For the contest ‘Arre Deewano Mujhe Pehchan' RJ Prateek will drop hints at the listeners by talking about a particular movie or a song or a scene. The listeners with right answers will win cool gift hampers. Another segment called ‘Bollywood ke Sanskar' will see a funny interstitial with ‘Bollywood ke Babuji'- Alok Nath.

Throwing light on his own nostalgic moments, RJ Prateek said, "The one thing I remember about my childhood is that I have always grown up in different countries as my father kept shifting countries quite often. It was in my teens that I came back to Delhi and discovered my love for Bollywood music."

When quizzed about what does he do when he is not at the studio, he answered, "I am an avid biker and scale the length and breadth of the country. In January, I had travelled on my bike from Delhi to Chennai. I also love trekking and sky diving and all the adventure sports."

Being an avid biker, he also conducts workshops on road safety. Also he asks listeners to ‘Save Water'. The RJ also agrees to the statement that RJ should be more responsible. "You can be fun loving and responsible at the same time," he concluded.
