MUMBAI: Entertainment Network India Limited (ENIL) SVP and legal head Vanditta Malhotra Hegde has quit Radio Mirchi to set up a law firm ‘Singh & Singh, Malhotra & Hegde' in Mumbai. Her association with Radio Mirchi will continue, as she will offer her legal advice to the radio station through her new firm, where she has already begun working.

Vanditta has been with Radio Mirchi for the last decade and has been credited for the successful legal strategies of Radio Mirchi in the copyright licensing and royalty issues.

Talking about quitting Radio Mirchi Vanditta said, "I wanted to do more than radio and concentrate in other sectors like media, entertainment, internet, pharmaceutical and other businesses, in the areas of Intellectual Property Rights, transaction, litigation, dispute resolution and strategic decision making."

She set up ‘Singh & Singh, Malhotra & Hegde' by joining hands with Singh & Singh Law Firm LLP, which is an Intellectual Property (IP) Rights law firm, founded by Prathiba Singh and Maninder Singh.

She further added, "The journey ahead looks very exciting. I have a great mentor in Prathiba Singh, one of the acknowledged thought leaders in the Indian IP arena. There is a lot of demand for quality, solution oriented legal advisory and as I have been an In-house counsel myself, having seen the business needs from closest quarters, I am confident that we will be able to provide great value to our clients. Radio Mirchi is our first client and it could not have begun better".

Vanditta began her career in law practice with firms like Mulla & Mulla, Craigie, Blunt & Caroe and Solicitors and Advocates. She joined Times Group in 2004 and held different responsibilities in legal function, providing legal advice to radio, internet, event management, filmed entertainment and out of home businesses, before being elevated to head of Legal for Radio Mirchi in 2007. She completed her law from Government Law College, Mumbai.
