Amazon creates a better choice for you to stay home with free access

MUMBAI: With the lockdown of the entire country the people have no other choice but to stay inside the house, Amazon laid out a handy guide with all the information you need to enjoy the books, video, music and other great free content making it available on your phone or other devices.

1. Enjoy a selection of free Kindle Books for you and your family

Amazon have collaborated with publishers to make a selection of eBooks available for customers of Amazon.co.uk and to download at no cost. This includes titles to inform and entertain children, from study guides to stories. For adults, there are eBooks to help with personal development and magazines about sport, interiors and more. For readers of all ages we have classic fiction including Oliver Twist, Treasure Island and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. To access the titles, you just need an Amazon account. You can download the eBooks onto a Kindle eReader or the free Kindle app for iOS and Android.

2. Listen to hundreds of books for free on Audible

When you’re lazing around the house, sometimes it’s good to listen to a nice story and refresh your minds. Amazon have curated hundreds of audiobook titles by age group for you and your family to listen to for free. From pre-schoolers to adults, there are titles for everyone to enjoy including the Timeless Tales of Beatrix Potter, Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone, Jane Eyre and Pride & Prejudice. No account or password are required. Just click, stream and enjoy.

3. Watch family shows free on Prime Video

A selection of children and family titles are now available free to watch on Prime Video for all Amazon customers, including Amazon Original children shows such as Just Add Magic, Wishenpoof, and Lost in Oz, as well as popular shows including Peppa Pig, Fireman Sam and In The Night Garden.

Prime membership is not necessary to access the free content on Prime Video, just an Amazon account. You can watch Prime Video on compatible smart TVs, Fire TV cube, Fire TV stick, Apple TV, Virgin V6 boxes, TalkTalk, BT, game consoles and mobile devices and tablets.

4. Enjoy a selection of free family and fitness content on Fire Tablets and Fire TV

A selection of fun family apps is available for free on Fire Tablets, with a wide variety of educational content for all ages. For children under five, you can pick a show from BBC CBeebies, including Bing: Watch, Play & Learn, IXL – Maths & English, Meet the Numberblocks! and many more. There’s plenty of helpful content to choose from for older children and adults too with spelling help from Let’s Spell, Spanish lessons from Learn Spanish for Beginners, Maths practice with 11+ Maths Practice Papers Lite, as well as access to TED talks.

5. Listen to playlists and stations with Amazon Music

For those who do not have a Prime membership or subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited, there are still ways where you can listen to with an ad-supported selection of top playlists and thousands of stations for free. Listen to your favorite devices, including Echo devices and via the Amazon Music app on iOS, Android, and Fire TV.

Students, teachers, and parents can also access a free virtual coding program – thanks to Amazon Future Engineer and FireTech. The virtual coding programme will provide learning resources for students while schools are closed, with minimal to zero impact on teachers, to support students and build their interest in computer science. Students can sign up today to access 20 hours of content which includes flying drones, designing smart cities and creating chatbots. The free resources use a Python Programming Platform, exploring ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ themes, plus a moderated forum and handy FAQs.
