MUMBAI: BIG FM has announced the Top 7 contestants of the seventh season of its most-coveted on-air singing talent hunt ‘BIG Golden Voice’. Providing a platform to a host of rising and upcoming talent, the singing reality show received more than 10,000 entries from across the country, making the property the biggest audio entertainment show in India.
Taking the competition a notch higher, the radio station introduced a fresh format, making the race to the top even more awe-inspiring. Commemorating IDFC First Bank’s highest saving bank interest at 7%, this year, moving beyond its original Top 10 format, listeners will get to witness only the Top 7 contestants making it to the final round.
The top 7 ‘Saat Suron ke Sartaaj’, Suraj Dogra from Jammu, Shreya Bajpai from Jhansi, Gainamlung Pamei from Shillong, Junaid Ahmed from Srinagar, Ankit Damami from Udaipur, Shalini from Mumbai, Wasif Ahmad from Muzaffarnagar were selected by Himesh Reshammiya, celebrity judge for the season, who heard the 58 city finalists from all across India. These 7 finalists will now compete against each other with five being selected to battle for the top 3 positions in the talent hunt. Making the show engaging, audiences will also get a chance to know the about contestants on-air over the next couple of weeks. The show will see the top 7 contestants speak about their experience and endearing journey in the talent hunt show so far on radio and through marquee videos shared on BIG FM’s social media handles.
The participants were selected through multiple rounds at the local level to select the respective city winners. The format of the property saw 58 city finalists being chosen from each of the 58 cities that BIG FM currently operates in. The 58 city winners were chosen by local celebrity judges in each of the cities that included singers Akasa Singh and Divya Kumar in Delhi and Mumbai respectively along with music composer Gurmoh in Chandigarh among others.
BIG FM has captured the meteoric rise of each of the seven finalists, from living their normal daily lives to now being part of a coveted Talent Hunt show and being the best 7 voices in the country today. These journey stories of transformation are being shared via digital videos on BIG FM’s social media handles. The backstory video of contestant Gainam Pamei performing "Mere Rang Mein" has already crossed 1 Million Views, a testament to the popularity of the marquee show in grassroots India. Overall, the seven videos have already crossed the milestone of 20 Million+ Reach on social media in a short period of time and is expected to ramp up in the coming days.
