Talent takes a bow at the finale of Radio City Super Singer- Season 8

MUMBAI: Radio City Super Singer, Season 8, India's biggest singing talent hunt reached its crescendo with a grand finale culminated in Mumbai on 4 September 2016. The 8th Season of Radio City’s marquee property presented by LuvIt Chocolates, saw six weeks of intense competition across the city of dreams. The magical duo Sajid-Wajid crowned the ultimate winner from Mumbai amongst the top five finalist, competing for the title and the cash prize of one lakh.

The city of Mumbai, this year witnessed a 52% rise in number of auditions across various platforms as compared to last year. Aspiring singers registered through digital platform – PlanetRadiocity.com, SMS, Calls, Mall auditions, on the go auditions and by walking in to the Radio City Studio, wherein, Sajid - Wajid also auditioned few candidates. After the cut throat competition between the talented singers, the top  contenders were given an opportunity to showcase their singing talent on air and win votes from the listeners.

On this occasion Radio City EVP & National Head - Programming, Marketing & AudaCITY Kartik Kalla said, “Radio City Super Singer, has been garnering an overwhelming response since its inception, and with the grand success of season 8, we have set a benchmark to follow. Radio City Super Singer is one such effort to gratify the singing talent in each city .Our belief in the fact that music runs through the veins of India stands vindicated and we are glad , we could play our part in unearthing fresh talent”!

On the finale event held at Infiniti mall - Malad, the audience and the judges grooved to the tunes of five finalist of ‘Radio City Super Singer 8’, Avaiz Darbar, Avinash Singh, Nimisha Deb, Rajeev Shukla and Sreyak finally crowning Avaiz Darbar the ultimate winner.

Music director duo, owners of Taaleem Studio and judges of Radio City Super Singer Season 8 (Mumbai) Sajid – Wajid said, “We were glad joining hands with Radio City to select the best of the best, as members of the jury, for ‘Radio City Super Singer’. We want to do our bit to ensure good music spreads far and wide, and great musical talent gets its due with platforms such as ‘Radio City Super Singer’. This is also the foundation of our Taaleem Studio, a one of its kind institute for music and singing training. We want to ensure that the huge musical talent pool out there gets the right guidance and training, to take music to new heights".

Keeping in mind the national brand campaign, Rag Rag Mein Daude City, the theme for this year’s competition was Jinki Rag Rag Mein Hai Singing that brought to forefront some astounding talent.
