All India Radio services to be partially affected in Mumbai

NEW DELHI: The broadcast of All India Radio’s (AIR) channel on FM Mode and private FM channels using the AIR FM towers in Mumbai has been affected due to some work being undertaken at the towers.

A source in the Engineering Department of AIR told Radioandmusic.com that the shutdown commenced from 5 am on 6 June and will continue till 8 am on 10 June.

The source said that painting and some repair work was on at the transmitter and therefore the channel broadcasts had been affected.

While AIR broadcasts FM Gold, AIR Rainbow, and Vividh Bharati on the FM mode, some private channels have also been partially affected.

However, the source said that these private channels also depended on private towers for their programming.
