All India Radio commences dual channel external service broadcasts from Bengaluru

NEW DELHI: All India Radio (AIR) has begun broadcasting its external services from Bengaluru on DRM dual channel.

The dual channel commenced on 16 August. Earlier, only one channel was running.

These transmissions are aimed at Australia, New Zealand, West Asia and East Africa, China and Tibet, and Europe. The transmissions include the Vividh Bharati channel.

AIR has been transmitting pure DRM on 1368 kHz multi-channel for some time.

The transmission consists of two programmes from Vividh Bharati on 100.1 MHz and FM Rainbow on 102.6 MHz.
