New Delhi: Two officials of All India Radio featured in the Padma Awards this year. Both were recipients of Padma Shree, according to the official list issued by the Government. The Padma Shree (also known as Padma Shri) is the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna, the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan.

Mokshada Chandrakar (popularly known as Ms Mamata Chandrakar) who is the station director of the Raipur station of AIR received an award in her capacity as an eminent folk singer for her contribution to Chhattisgarhi folk music.

The other award went to veteran Hindi cricket commentator Sushil Doshi who is popular for his knowledge of the game.

According to an official release, Prasar Bharati described this as a proud moment and commended the two awardees.
