Mirchi regains lead margins in Kolkata, Mumbai

MUMBAI: Fever is maintaining a slow climb in most of the metros, even as Mirchi regained its lead margin in Kolkata and Mumbai in wee 44.

The most significant lead by Fever was in Delhi where it climbed 1.4 percentage points in week 44, inching closer to leader Mirchi.

Community radio stations welcome MIB's DAVP plans

MUMBAI: The constant lobbying by community radio stations in India for government advertising has finally been heard.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, on 4 November 2009, passed a government resolution finalizing the DAVP advertising rates for community radio stations to Re. 1/- per second for a period of one year initially.

The circular from the Information and Broadcast Ministry on Re. 1/sec advertising rates for DAVP ads has received mixed reactions from the community radio operators in India.

Fever inches up in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore

MUMBAI: While the RAM statistics for week 42 did not indicate significant changes in the trend, HT Media's Fever has been registering a slow but steady growth in the three metros of Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. In Kolkata, however, the station which recently saw the resignation of station head Pralay Bakshi, continues to lag behind Mirchi, Big, Friends, Aamar and Red FM.

Mirchi, Big battle it out in Bangalore, Kolkata

MUMBAI:  It's a neck to neck fight between Radio Mirchi and Big FM in Kolkata and Bangalore. In Bangalore, Big FM kept up its lead in week 41 with a slim margin over overall metro leader Mirchi, but Radio Mirchi stayed a slight distance ahead of Big in Kolkata. In Delhi, it was AIR's FM Gold station that nearly touched Fever for securing second position, just behind Mirchi. In Mumbai however, Mirchi retained its comfortable lead over Red FM.
