Spotify to launch a family plan with cheaper subscriptions

MUMBAI: Spotify is about to launch a new 'Family Plan' that will offer cheaper subscriptions to its existing subscribers' family members.

The plan will be made available to four members of the paying user's account with each paying half the standard subscription amount. The members can share one billing account and simultaneously keep the playlists and recommendations completely separate.

Each member will have their account on Spotify and the users can make their playlist and also sign in through Facebook so that they can follow their friends. Each member included on the plan enjoys a premium service as the he or she can play a song anytime on any device without any restrictions.  The family plan also enables each user to access their own playlist without the other member interfering in his/ her playlist.

Spotify's chief content officer Ken Parks stated in the release, "This is one of the most asked for features from our audience. With the announcement we're making it easier than ever for the whole family to experience Spotify Premium on their phones, at home and on the go."

Recently the music streaming service got live in Canada and music can be streamed on all the devices.
