ShotformatsÆ Biscoot Bajao develops microsite for artists

MUMBAI: Biscoot Bajao has announced that it will join hands with musicians to create dedicated microsites for fans in the country. The microsites that are to be launched will start with one of the country’s most popular singers- Sonu Nigam, and will be followed by Kumar Sanu, Ankit Tiwari and other famous singers.

According to a release, each artist’s microsite will have a dedicated live radio station that will be customised for fans. It will also include other unique features like a special section where artists can create joint playlists with fans.

Nigam, whose microsite is already available, said, "Biscoot Bajao is an interesting and innovative one stop music destination something that I am sure audiences will love. It is a great platform for all music lovers as well as for the music industry. The portal looks classy and has youth appeal to it. I am looking forward to it."

The microsite will also enable fans to dedicate music through the site from social networking platforms like Twitter and Facebook, thus keeping artists in the limelight.

Speaking on the new initiative, Shotformats Digital CEO and MD, Niyati Shah said, "India is country which loves music but follows Bollywood stars, as they are the face of all the popular music. We have launched the dedicated micro sites keeping in mind that our music creators are under played as compared to the western country. We have realised the vacuum and launched an ultimate music destination where fans can follow their favourite singer or music director and get all the updates on them."

The partnership will be beneficial for both parties as Shotformats will sell compilations of the tracks via its innovative and extensive network of over 10,000 offline app stores. The content, which is DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected, will be sold in an app format. This will ensure it cannot be shared or copied onto other devices, which in turn will help curb piracy as content owners will be able to monetise their material better. It will also ensure the entertainment industry will get its share of revenue.
