Turner Broadcasting System and Live Nation Entertainment join hands for 'Live Nation Music Awards'

MUMBAI: The best live musical performances of the year will be honoured at the first Live Nation Music Awards. The television event was announced by Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. and Live Nation Entertainment and it is set to simulcast on TNT and TBS on 1 October, 2015.

Produced by Live Nation Entertainment in collaboration with IMG and dick clark productions, the awards will honour the year's most memorable performances in various categories like ‘Live Performance of the Year,’ ‘Best On-Stage Collaboration,’ ‘Road Warrior of the Year,’ and ‘Best Special Effects in a Festival.’ In a joint statement it was hinted that it will feature “unique and never-before-seen” collaborations and special appearances.

"With all the honours given to recorded music, it is great to finally see awards created for live performances," said David Eilenberg, senior vice president of unscripted series, specials and late night for TBS and TNT.

"Live Nation is dedicated to bringing artists and fans together for life-long memories and we are honoured to take part in recognising the talent who bring those experiences to life," said Live Nation Entertainment president and CEO Michael Rapino.

IMG chief content officer Mark Shapiro said, “In the last few years, we have seen incredible innovation and investment in live music. Music permeates all aspects of entertainment, and fans are ready to celebrate all that the industry is doing around the world to push the envelope and create unique experiences."
