Don't Let Daddy Know music fest headed to India

MUMBAI: After taking music lovers across the globe, including Amsterdam, Antwerp and Hong Kong, on an exciting ride, electronic dance music festival Don't Let Daddy Know (DLDK) is all set to rock India soon.

The founders of the international music festival have partnered with Ferriswheel Entertainment, an agency that specialises in conceptualising, producing and directing live events and festivals, to present the world tour of their party on home turf.

After debuting in Privilege Ibiza in 2012, the fest has created waves in the music scene internationally by staging events in Manchester (UK), Chile, the Netherlands and Istanbul (Turkey) as well as hosting its own stage at Ziggo Dome, Mysteryland and Creamfields Festival.

And, now the party will extend its roots to India with a homegrown version of the one night dance music - DLDK India - featuring five of the global names in electronic music. The artists will come together to curate music of diverse genres of electronic dance music, including trap, dubstep and psy-trance.

The event, expected to be held early next year, will be hosted by international stars while the opening acts will feature some homegrown artists.

DLDK is known for its larger than life production and top of the line acts such as Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Steve Aoki, Major Lazer, and Skrillex.

Alex Hes and Essam Jamsen, founders of DLDK, are excited about the collaboration.

"India is one of the top 10 countries that are zealous about dance music. We found an ideal collaborator in Ferriswheel Entertainment that shares our enterprise and hence they are the preferred partners for the India leg of the world tour," they said in a joint statement.

Shubhra Bharadwaj, founder and creative director of Ferrishwheel Entertainment and Partner DLDK India, said that the international music fest in the nation will put India on "global dance music map".

"We hope to unite dance music fans across Asia with this annual property and give them a unique experience with the way India parties and strategically position India as one of the preferred destinations on the global dance music map," Bharadwaj said.

The line-up for the musical extravaganza will be announced soon.
