Times Music acquires music rights of upcoming film under Deol clan

MUMBAI: There is no doubt that the regional music space is growing, and along with it, the interest of music labels is also on the rise. Recently, Junglee Music, the film arm of Indian music label- Times Music, acquired the music rights for the film ‘Ramta Jogi’, produced by Vijayta Films.

This is the first film that Junglee Music has signed with Vijayta Films, an Indian entertainment company owned by the Deol family- Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.

In the past, Times Music has acquired the music of Punjabi films like ‘Control Bhaji Control’, for which the music was composed by Gurmit Singh and Gurmoh; and ‘Naughty Jatts’, whose music was composed by Sham Balkar, Gagan Deep, Vikram Khajuria, Anil Sagar and Jaggi Singh.

The music for ‘Ramta Jogi’ has been composed by Santokh Singh and Harry Anand, and features newcomers like Deep Sidhu and Ronica Singh.The songs in the film are sung by Javed Bashir, Harry Anand, Sukhwinder Singh, Tarannum and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, to name a few.

‘Ramta Jogi’ is directed by Guddu Dhanoa, a well-known name in the Punjabi Music industry, and the film is slated to release on 14th August, this year.

It is likely that there will be more partnerships like this in the coming months for Times Music, which will help the label strengthen its hold in the Punjabi space.
