Sony Music acquires the music rights for 'Brothers'

MUMBAI: The music rights for ‘Brothers’, the highly anticipated Dharma Productions film, have been acquired by Sony Music. The film is an Indian adaptation of the 2011 Hollywood motion picture ‘Warrior’, which starred Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton. The music of the film is composed by famed Marathi composer duo, Ajay-Atul, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Speaking on this achievement, Sony Music India Marketing Director Sanujeet Bhujabal said, “Dharma and Sony Music have always created great musical milestones and the music of this film will be another such. Composed by the multi award winning duo Ajay –Atul, who will weave in magic with their melodies and the lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, this album will a worthy follow up to the smashing soundtrack of Agneepath.”

The film revolves around two brothers, played by Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra, who both participate in the same fight competition and eventfully have to fight with each other. In addition to Kumar and Malhotra, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Jacqueline Fernandez, Shefali Shah, Ashutosh Rana and Kiran Kumar.

'Brothers' is scheduled for release in Indian theatres on 14 August 2015.
