People should promote new talent: Naushad Khan

MUMBAI: Past one year has been huge for Indie Music Label, as it has been basking in the success of their songs that made a mark.

Speaking about the success, Indie Music Label Managing Director Naushad Khan said, “Indie music is one year old and my idea from day one was to support independent music and artists.”

He further said, “Currently, there are just four to five artists (musicians), who are ruling Bollywood. Recreations and original compositions are being done by them."

Darshan Raval, in one year, has evolved to emerge as one of the biggest talents in the country with big blockbuster singles like Tera Zikr, Baarish Lete Aana. Here’s an extra piece of information, Naushad Khan has supported Darshan Raval right from Tera Zikr and helped him during his debut days. Khan elaborated on this, “There are a talented bunch of artists in this country, who need to be supported. People should promote such talents. You always need the next generation of stars.”

Every generation, there has to be a new lot to the business to the community and to the audience. There is much talent out there and there, there can be 40 singers singing 400 songs, we can get a bigger range of options and categories. There are bigger giants, also you can’t mix business when it comes to promoting new talent. Like spoiling the song by giving it to your singer only which you know somebody else could have done it better than the guy who has done it.”

Khan has an advice to all the Directors, production houses, composers, “They should believe in new talent because at one point of time they were also new, someone invested and had a belief in their talent.”

Lastly, Khan explains that we need more people like Darshan Raval who can become next Arijit Singh, Ankit Tiwari, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and many more. “We believe in the quality of song, video and the way it is marketed. We are putting our blood and sweat to really create content for this young talent. We genuinely want to introduce twenty new talents in the next four-five years,” elaborated Khan on what Indie Music is planning to do.
