BuzzAngle Music tracks Record Store Day sales growth

MUMBAI: BuzzAngle Music, Border City Media's comprehensive service that provides deep analytics of music consumption as it relates to the music industry through web and mobile access, has updated its second annual set of daily data for Record Store Day sales to account for additional stores reporting, showing an even higher growth in sales from 2014.

BuzzAngle Music's data shows:

  • 39 per cent growth in overall sales a 45 per cent growth in vinyl sales at independent record stores from Record Store Day 2014.
  • 24 per cent growth in album sales and a 97 per cent growth in single sales at independent record stores from Record Store Day 2014.
  • 742 per cent growth in sales and 2,186 per cent growth in vinyl sales at independent record stores on Record Store Day (Saturday, April 18) in comparison to the previous Saturday (April 11).
  • 516 per cent growth in album sales and 32,072 per cent growth in single sales at independent record stores on Record Store Day in comparison to the previous Saturday.
