Priyanka Chopra issues legal notice to Aseem Merchant over Jaju biopic

MUMBAI: Although actress-turned singer Priyanka Chopra is riding high on the success of her new music career, her personal life could quite possibly be causing her some trouble. According to reports, the 'Exotic' singer has sent her rumoured ex-beau- Aseem Merchant a legal notice to halt production of a biopic that is based on Chopra's former manager.

The biopic, which Merchant says is about Prakash Jaju, reportedly features material on the former Miss World and her family. The notice sent to Merchant states that no confidential or personal information about Chopra should be mentioned in the biopic, and publicity for the same should be withdrawn.

However, Merchant is adamant on making the film and has stated that he will be going ahead with the project. He has already bought the rights to Jaju's biopic and has revealed that he will not succumb to any kind of pressure tactic. Reports also say that Merchant has replied to Chopra's notice.

Amidst all the legal drama, Chopra is busy getting her debut album ready. Chopra, who has been signed to Universal Music, has so far released three singles- 'In My City', 'Exotic' and 'I Can't Make You Love Me'. Chopra's music career is currently being managed by Troy Carter, who also manages pop superstar Lady Gaga. She has collaborated with Sam Watters, Jay Sean and Matthew Koma for her upcoming album, which is scheduled to release later this year.
