Berklee- Furtados Clinics receives overwhelming response for registration

MUMBAI: Over 400 enthusiasts have registered for clinics set up by Berklee School of Music, which is being sponsored by Furtados School of Music and Furtados Music. The two-day programs will be held in Mumbai and Delhi, and will offer students the opportunity to experience Berklee-style classes, closer to home.

The Mumbai leg of the clinic, which will be held on 31 October and 1 November, at Mount Litera School International, has had over 250 registrations, so far. However, the organisation has pushed the deadline beyond 15 October as earlier planned, citing the continuing overwhelming response it has received. The Delhi leg of the clinic will be held on 3 and 4 November, in Vasant Valley School – Sector C, where over 150 students have registered, and more are expected to follow as the window remains open.

The clinic intends to share the Berklee experience with applicants of 15 years and above. Applicants should also have at least 6 months of experience in the field of music. Along with a registration fee of Rs 5000, applicants also need to provide material demonstration of their musical abilities. Participants who complete the program will receive a certificate of completion from Berklee.

With a focus to offer a performance forum on creative approaches to production in the studio, Berklee School of Music will bring in Chantel Hampton (voice), Mark Kopeland (keys/piano), and Winston Maccow (bass). Students will also benefit from the presence and knowledge of Berklee graduate and Global Music Institute founder Tarun Balani (drums).

Interested applicants can register for the two-day session on the Berklee website.
